THE FRED ASTAIRE METHOD OF TEACHING Our unique method of dance instruction is an exciting way for you to measure your dance progress and achieve your dancing goals. Approved by the National Dance Council of America (NDCA) and designed by the Fred Astaire Dance Council, the Fred Astaire Trophy System defines various levels of accomplishment in dance. Whether you want to become a confident social dancer or a national competitor, we have the program for you! Each of the Fred Astaire Programs build upon the previous one, so try to imagine a step ladder with each level of our programs leading you to the Top! SOCIAL FOUNDATION Our Social Foundation Level is your first planed and personalized dance program. It embodies the basics necessary for good social dancing. The key elements enable you to "Hold Your Own" in most social dance situations. When completed, you will have the proper footwork, an introduction to the feel of various dance tempos and the fundamentals of a good lead as a man, or following ability as a lady. ADVANCED SOCIAL FOUNDATION The Advanced Social Foundation takes everything you accomplished in the Basic Social Foundation and takes it one more step up the learning ladder. The program will give you a greater variety of patterns and the ability to blend them together. And finally the Social Foundation program provides an excellent stepping stone to out next level - the BRONZE TROPHY SYSTEM of advanced dancing. ADVANCED BRONZE TROPHY SYSTEM :
Advanced Bronze dancers have complete confidence in being able to dance with any partner on any size dance floor to any tempo of music. The Advanced Bronze program emphasizes an individual's sense of balance, rhythm, control and coordination in order to help learn the step patterns, timing, appearance, and leading/following faster. Advanced Bronze dancing is at a much higher level than other social dancing because of the movement and intricacies of the patterns. SILVER TROPHY LEVEL : Distinguished by versatility and style in the popular social dances!
GOLD TROPHY LEVEL
The GOLD level takes everything you have worked on and refines your style and technique in each of your dances to take you to the TOP level in social dancing. These dancers have advanced style and poise in ALL the ballroom dances. THEATRE ARTS GOLD STAR PROGRAM Theatre Arts in an exciting, beautiful and very often breathtaking style of dancing which was developed by the Fred Astaire Dance Studios in 1964. The primary purpose of THEATRE ARTS dancing is to offer to the keen dancer (who has the interest and ability to developed his/her dancing more creatively), the highest possible degree of Flair, Individual Expression, and Polish. Elements of the dance which formerly were available only to Professional Dancers are now incorporated in to Ballroom Dancing for the student. The merger of THEATRE ARTS with Ballroom Dancing produces that extra special glamour in your dancing - the "icing on the cake", so to speak. It will in a relatively short time, make your Ballroom Dancing to be more Stylish and Professional looking. The exciting climax to THEATRE ARTS dancing is the GOLD STAR AWARD which is highlighted by Special Exhibitions at Studio Parties, Trophy Award Balls and Competitions. Although the GOLD STAR in itself may be of little intrinsic value to the dancer, it represents one of the highest achievement Awards in the Ballroom Dancing profession. It is everlastingly treasured by both Amateur and Professional dancers. The inevitable outcome of THEATRE ARTS study is an increasing awareness of your individual creative abilities and in appreciation of truly beautiful dance form. The possibilities are endless!
